That’s an interesting point. Although I feel VII and VIII could have used someone to have complete control over the entire new trilogy, I don’t think it would be that much of an increase in quality if Lucas was given the role. I will love Lucas until the end of my days for bringing Star Wars into existence, but without people like Rian Johnson and J.J. Abrams giving new perspectives, while keeping the feel of a Star Wars film, the films may get stale and directionless. I understand your feelings towards the new trilogy, but without new perspectives we wouldn’t have had the wonderful film that is Episode V.
